Fu Xi
Known as a half-human, half-serpent deity who is Nu Wa's brother and husband. Within various mythological tales, nearly all divine beings kowtow before him and treat him with the highest pinnacle of respect.
Implied to have originally been an enthusiastic and brave youth, Fu Xi matures into a resolute and debonair individual. He is usually modest of his divine origin and prefers to be a little more practical in his methods, sparing usage of his sorcery unless he fights against other supernatural beings. Compared to his mystic comrades, he has an early appreciation for humanity yet is hesitant to join them immediately. He feels they need to prove their worth to him and Fu Xi tries to play the part of observer like other mystics. However, he lacks the patience to stick to the role for long and is eager to join the fight himself. Fu Xi teases Taigong Wang as a young boy, which implies that he is much older than the young man in the ancient world. Based on his dialogue with Nu Wa, he is the stronger of the two cultured mystics. Therefore, if he encounters her as an enemy, Fu Xi promises to hold back for her. |
Nu Wa
A serpent goddess who is the sister and wife of Fu Xi. She is often accredited to have given the gift of earth and rope-making to humanity. Nu Wa is also known to have repaired the heavens once it tore away from the land, effectively healing the sky and the earth itself.
Originally implied to be a cheerful and optimistic individual, Nu Wa is a suave and composed woman of grace. Not willing to disclose herself to others easily, she is proud of her immortality and condescends any who stand against her. In time, she finds humans to be amusing and believes in their capabilities. She regards Huang Quan with disdain, but holds Yang Hui with high reguards. Though her dignified demeanor is admired by many, some of the more prominent women view it as arrogance. |
Taigong Wang
Known as a gentlemen who likes to live freely, Taigong Wong is a reliable and kind individual. Acting as though he is always frivolous with his second chance at life, he is actually devoted and tenderly attached to his partner. He is the only character to call Yang Hui by Xi Wang Mu, his affectionate name for her. He struggles to accept Huang Quan since she is the exact opposite of the Yang Hui he admires, acting sullen and detached when in her company. However, as he is defeated, he admits to have accepted Huang Quan as a part of Yang Hui.
