Even from the very first day he was introduced into the world, Sun Ce was destined for greatness. Being the eldest son of Sun Jian, he was naturally trained in both physical and mental training to become a nobleman, and when he would be able to prove himself later, to fill his father's shoes. These various training sessions were to ensure that he would be a fearsome warrior to gain power easily, but also a wise one so that he could plan his strategies carefully.
From a very young age, Sun Ce was exposed to various sorts of arts such as calligraphy and playing instruments along with his younger brother, Sun Quan. Even though Quan would fully immerse himself in his studies and therefore, earn the whole-hearted praise of his tutors, Ce was the complete opposite. He absolutely refused to sit down for such a period of time plucking at delicate thin strings or having to labor over how thin or thick a brush stroke, his mind instantly wandering away from what he would be supposed to be focusing on. Ce is naturally a lively and active sort of person, never being able to remain still or concentrate for a period of time. There always had to be new and exciting things for him, or else he would make excitement by himself, whether it was for the better or the worst. Sometimes, he would even try to joke or tease with the tutors, a highly disrespectful sort of behaviors to his elders which he didn't really care for, but was always promptly reported back to his father. However, Ce is never an attention whore, just that his enthusiastic nature tended to draw attention towards him which he had no qualms against.
This kind of distracted behaviors would usually earn him sharp raps on the head and sharp words whenever he struggling to even pay attention to while his younger brother would be always showered in compliments about how he was so much more better than his older sibling, the one who was to inherit the power and wealth without any work. Sun Jian himself would often times favor Quan over Ce at times, usually giving the boy a warm smile when he heard the good news of Quan. For Ce however, there was nothing but disappointed looks for the brash boy.
On the training grounds however, things were completely different than in the stuffy rooms of the arts. There, Ce was the star of all the cadets who were there and he would earn many praises and compliments for his skills with fighting, especially with his skills at martial arts particularly the Tiger style. Quan was left far behind in the dust of Ce as his elder brother would surpass many of the trainers themselves who had taught him, Ce being truly proud that he as the son of the Sun family would become one of the best warriors. There was nothing else in life that Ce truly loved in life than a good exhilarating battle that could get his heart racing and when the stakes were sky high. Sun Jian was quite proud of how his eldest son was shaping up to become truly a magnificent warrior as he was too, but he did worry about how Ce would behave when in combat. While Ce is quite the "honor and pride" sort of character to want to have the battlefield be completely equal between him and his opponent, his enthusiasm and passion for fighting sometimes outstripped his abilities and limits. Ce always wanted there to be no advantages given to himself or his opponent even if there was a highly unlikely chance there would be to win for him. He would never cease to push himself past his limits, never one to give up even if his body would be screaming at him to stop. His laughing and joking demeanor would disappear when fighting, becoming dead serious and absolutely concentrated on who was in front of him. This sort of sudden attitude change gave him the friendly nickname among the military officials as the "Prowling Tiger" for his silent and thunderous looks during battles he would wear so unlike his usual "sunny" and open disposition elsewhere. True to that, many of his enemies and rivals only know his stormy and brash attitude with the harsh looks he keeps on him when battling. However, even with how frightening he can become on the battlefield, he is not one to trade insults or make the attacks verbal, rather sticking to physical hits until he is the victor and can gloat all he wants later.
With all of this competition going on between them and Quan believing that even though he was the younger son but he could still possibly try to usurp his older brother with his intelligence and wit, a harsh and bitter rivalry was born between the two. They would argue and bicker at every moment they were together and usually, the confrontations would turn physical, leading to Sun Jian to have to play peacekeeper between the two oftentimes. The blame always went to Ce even if Quan was actually the one who started it, for he was the more rash one out of the two, which also continued to foster the spiteful bitterness between them. Ce did not truly dislike his brother since they were family and there were times he tried to make peace with Quan, but he could not resist a seed of grudging distaste for his more studious and peaceful brother who seemed in his eyes to be his father's favorite. To make up for his incompetence in his studies, Ce strived to be even better at fighting, passing himself even more at training in order to make himself proud in his father's eyes. The difference between the two boys were like yin and yang; while Quan was sophisticated and serious, Ce was boisterous and impatient. His outlook on life was simply to act first, then think later. This type of attitude caused Ce to land in many sticky situations, unlike his brother who never did anything without a plan of action. Ce is not one for verbal confrontations either, being usually flustered by sharp words and usually ending up losing his temper to bring it to physical attacks instead. Along with being pugnacious and sometimes rash nature, Ce would never be afraid to spice his words with colorful language in his coarse ways of speaking, earning him many favors with the lesser classes of society.
With the birth of his young sister, Sun Shangxiang, and her childhood growing up trying to be like her two older brothers, Ce took a deep connection to her. It was far more profound and caring than his relationship to Quan, for Ce felt that she too was also trying to make herself proud to the world. With this common goal between brother and sister, Ce would always watch her back, never letting anything get in her way. Still the charismatic and gung-ho sort of person he is, Ce would always delight in teasing and fooling around with Shangxiang, especially about her dislike about being called "little". To infuriate her even more, Ce gave her the nickname of "Little Fury" for her quick-tempered emotions so alike his, and would never cease to add the word "little" into everything when she was around. However, all of this teasing and taunting was all in good nature as Ce truly did love his little sister, the two always being together on the battlefield and in casual times. The link that Ce had with Shangxiang set him apart from Quan even more, knowing that Quan was the one she would go to for serious matters and more studious words. Nevertheless, this never prevented Ce from feeling absolutely smug that he was Shangxiang's favorite over Quan, which did help to feel more accomplished to his father's eyes.
As the macho and proud teen matured into his twenties with life being fairly good, his father began to want to expand their influences to encompass more land and therefore power for the family. Both Ce and Quan were now their father's pride and joys as the proud sons of the Sun family, though their rivalry did not ease up one bit. Both were still head-to-head with each other, and even though they did not confront and fight any more, they still endured to try to surpass the other. Luckily, Sun Jian was in no hurry to pass the role of power to either of them yet, and soon, he set the three siblings on separate campaigns to conquer the area.
This sort of action Ce approved of quite well and with his best friend Zhou Yu, whom he had met during his younger years and became comrades in arms with, he set off with a portion of the army to expand their influence. Throughout all of the battles and adventure they had together as they swept through the land, Ce immensely enjoyed the action he got out of such a campaign. However, just as his father feared in his younger days, Ce sometimes was too brash and stubborn in his will and pride, often setting his life on the line for more glory.
Only the intervention and wisdom of his brother-in-arms, Zhou Yu, was Ce and the rest of the force saved many times, and he would always strive to repay his gratitude to his friend by always looking out for him on the battlefield. Zhou Yu was the strategist and mastermind behind the scenes of the leadership, while Ce would always protect his buddy's back and deal with the others. This policy of repayment extended out to all of those who had helped him too, earning him the uttermost respect of those under his command. This system Ce had with others as well as his charismatic nature to naturally make others follow him helped to cement many of the allegiances in his command, which further boosted his pride for who he was.
By the time Ce had come back to his father's presence having conquered much of the land for the new Wu kingdom, he was already known and well-loved as "The Little Conquerer of Jiang Dong" which tickled his pride and allowed Ce to finally feel that he would be worthy to become the emperor now that he was a prince with Zhou Yu at his side as his master strategist. Sun Jian would also begin to feel the same about his eldest child, considering that he had managed to grab more land for the family than any of his other siblings could.
However, the joyous celebrations and anticipation for the young Wu kingdom was cut short with the appearance of the Han. The atmosphere instantly darkened as Sun Jian worried about who these new intruders would be. Knowing that he could not simply idle around for too long, Sun Jian along with his two sons went to confront the Han and their Generals. The encounter quickly turned sour and the mood tense as the trio realized what sort of power they were up against and in less than a blink, Sun Quan was killed when Ce shouted his angry words at the Generals. Instantly realizing that the death blow was for him, he did feel sorrow and compassion for his fallen brother, but it was swallowed up under the rage he felt for these people to try to tarnish their pride. Rushing into battle against those who had brutally killed Quan, he could see that Sun Jian was also deeply hurt by this offense and both son and father launched a counter-attack in grief. Alas, their blows were on vain as they were overwhelmed and subdued easily, Ce being separated from his father in the mass of warriors fighting against him. That would be the last time he would see his father.
With his pride and body hurt and bruised, Ce was bound and brought to Han Junjie, who instantly made Ce feel as if he was nothing under this being. There was nothing he could do but accept the offer to join the Han Army in exchange for his father's safety as a hostage and future pride to the Wu kingdom since Han Junjie was quite impressed with the prince's fighting.
Allowing Ce to now be freed and report back to those in his kingdom of what had happened, Ce was greatly ashamed of the choice he had to make. What would come of Zhou Yu and his precious sister, Sun Shangxiang? The people of his kingdom and elsewhere did not know that he had to accept the offer of Han Junjie or else die, striking him deep within his heart that the family's reputation would be tarnished by the choice he had to make.
Trying to make the best of his situation, Ce did make a good effort to stretch out to the others also recruited in the Army, but more than often, he was simply scoffed at or sometimes even threatened at. True to that many of them were his enemies and rivals, but since they were now all forced on the same side, Ce tried to use his friendly attitude to recruit some followers and friends. Only a few even tolerated his presence, and his greatest success was the recruitment of the former pirate leader, Gan Ning, whom Ce respected greatly. Now forced to abide by the offer that he had to take, Ce awaits Han Junjie's orders... But he worries and wonders about the fate of those in his kingdom, especially Shangxiang and Zhou Yu.

To keep himself happy and to feed his large body, Sun Ce is quite the ravenous eater, discriminating against no type of food. When he was still with his complete family, they would often joke with him about how it seems as if he had a bottomless stomach when in fact, all the energy was just burned off as quickly as he consumed food in battle. He can often eat as much as 3 men can in one sitting, and then be hungry again soon after. When he's starving however, Ce will become a complete grouch and childishly snap at anyone who says anything that could be considered offensive, even if they were just teasing him.
