The Jin Dynasty (晋朝 or 晉朝), also known as Western Jin (西晋), is a kingdom faction symbolized by a light blue color and a Qilin.
The Western Jin Dynasty has its roots with Sima Yi, who served Wei during Cao Cao's time. After the ruler's death, he offered his services to Cao Pi and Cao Rui. By the time Cao Pi had obtained the Nine Bestowments, the Sima family's reputation had grown exponentially. Sima Yi's efforts in dealing with the Wu army invasions, Zhuge Liang's Northern Campaigns, Gongsun Yuan's revolt, and other pivotal events forged a mighty reputation for him. When others in Wei warned the emperor that Sima Yi was monopolizing his position, the latter distanced himself from political affairs. Combining the forces of his own supporters and that of his sons, Sima Shi and Sima Zhao, Sima Yi eventually led a coup d'état on the influential regent who was suspicious of him, Cao Shuang. Sima Zhao died in battle trying to defend the Sima family against the outraged Wei as well as against the attacks of Jiang Wei and the attempted revolt of Zhong Hui. This left his wife, Wang Yuanji a widow to remain at the side of her brother-in-law and father-in-law. The kingdom was doing quite well for itself, readying for an attack on the Shu, when the Han Dynasty mysteriously emerged from thin air. As Sima Yi was kidnapped, Sima Shi -his remaining son- has taken an oath to bring his father back to once again rule over the Jin. |
Originally known as a calm and gloomy strategist, Sima Yi eventually became a man who is more arrogant and conniving. He is known for his maniacal laughter and for insulting friend and foe alike as "Fool!" or "Imbecile!" He doesn't truly believe in Cao Cao but is always eager to exploit every opportunity given to him. Prideful of his intellect and believing that he has an unsurpassed wit, he regards Zhuge Liang as a worthy opponent.
While usually known to be contemptuous and seemingly shallow, Sima Yi can also be easily humiliated when he can't predict the results of his actions. This feature is openly exposed with Wang Yi and Wang Yuanji, since both women easily see through him. He trusts Zhang He's versatility for his plans and relies on him during the later parts of the Three Kingdoms period. He shares a loosely trusted partnership with Cao Pi and the heir refers to him by his proper name. Sima Yi is fascinated with Cao Pi's abilities and generally finds him a better ruler than his father. He stands tall at about 5'10". His weapon of choice is a War Fan called the "Fenghuang Wing". His specialty attack utilizes the power of wind and are known as "Spider Web" and "Flash Snare". |
